Fast-Growing Diner Chain Plans to Open 14 New Restaurants In 2024

Not every American hamlet has a cozy diner serving comfort cuisine. That may change in some areas as a fast-growing diner company plans to establish several new restaurants.

A cabin-themed breakfast and homestyle comfort food franchise, Black Bear Diner, wants to launch 14 new restaurants in 2024. The new locations will include five corporate and nine franchise diners.

In 2024, Black Bear Diner will expand after launching in Texas, California, Utah, and Arizona last year. The latest opening was in Burleson, Texas, on Dec. 13. The chain has 157 outlets throughout the West, South, and Midwest on its website, so 14 additional additions will be a big deal.

Some Black Bear Diner franchisees will open in California, Texas, and Arizona this year. For select openings, the chain has partnered with two new franchise partners, LVP Foodservice and Gursavri Group.

LVP Foodservice will open four outlets in Kansas, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado in 2024, while Gursavri Group will open an Arizona diner.

All five new corporate-owned restaurants will be in Texas—San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Rio Grande Valley.

Some of the 14 new locations this year will be ground-up. In other circumstances, existing buildings will become Black Bear Diners. The new eateries would "incorporate recent design enhancements to better accommodate off-premise dining," the business claimed.

Black Bear Diner's website lets consumers sign up for email updates on new locations, although all 14 locations opening in 2024 haven't been disclosed.

Other restaurant chains have ambitious expansion goals besides Black Bear. Potbelly announced a contract late last year to open 22 Seattle-Tacoma restaurants. McDonald's, which has over 40,000 locations worldwide, wants 50,000 by 2027.
