Pizza Dough Recipe

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F/45°C) 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a bit more flour.

Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles and divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.

Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go, typically around 500°F (260°C), and place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to preheat.

Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface into your desired pizza crust thickness and shape.

Carefully transfer the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
